Nature frequently puts itself front and center and says "Look at me!"  Such was the case on Saturday morning when a fog carried water droplets on the wind, turning them into daggers of ice on the windward side of everything.  Hoarfrost is a common occurrence here in winter but rarely do we see so called "soft rime ice."  Two images of clothespins are good demonstrations of soft rime ice.  They could be cactus needles.  Since I never know when the sun will break through the fog and dissolve the crystals, doing a photo shoot like this is time-sensitive.  You can see the fog was fairly dense in the first image.

In the next two photographs, rime ice clings to the hardware cloth that covers the raised beds.  Although the ice on grasses and trees was interesting, it seemed to be more profound on metal.
