Color it Red, second installment
In last week's blog, I presented some of the images I plan to enter in the Red Dog News Color It Red photography contest. Here is the second group being considered for entry. Fellow photographer Steve Immel featured red in his blog last week as well, and several of his images were stunning. Apparently, he had entered at least one in a past Color It Red contest, and it was not considered. Thus, the ongoing dilemma for artists of any stripe - trying to determine what is pleasing to the viewing eye.
The first two are pretty darned "in your face" red.
The New Mexico state question: red or green?
Just a bit more on the subtle side
until next Monday,
a passion for the image

Love the rooster and wine glass. Steve Immel is right about the wine glass, but oh that rooster!
I'm all over the wine glass. They're all worthy but that one is most unique to me. The table pattern creates intriguing swirls in the wine. And it is subtle. Did you look at this year's Color It Red winners? The grand champion was a gauzy, soft focus headshot with sensuous lips. The wine glass is in that vein. The overwhelmingly red images don't seem to make the cut.
The chicken comes in second.
Chicken/ Rooster(?)! Unexpected, which to me brings plus points for categorical competion. Also, very textural, good composition, and the ever-interesting spiral. What more could you want?!
I love the flower which hangs on my wall, but the rooster is amazing. I also love the wine glass.
