fuchsia faces for any season

Frequently, when a photographer ventures forth into the world, whether near or far, surprises await.  They could be part of what one plans to photograph or they could emerge during the process. A catchment or small pond filled with water lilies was in an unexpected place - a horse stable where one of our nieces rides.  I had not intended to shoot water lilies, but the opportunity presented itself and I was not going to turn it down. Some of the photographs are here.  The stunning fuchsia-colored flowers literally float on and reflect the water.  They pop and brighten any mood or season.

Not only was the place alive with water lilies and their flowers but with frogs.  So it really wasn't a surprise that there would be a photo bomb somewhere in my images.  With luck, you will be able to see the frog's head poking up in the upper right hand corner of the image below.

Thanks to Minna, Kay, Tim, Marilyn G., Barbara F. R., Steve, Jean & Sam, Catherine, Rebecca, and Geula for writing this week.  And as waves of winter move back and forth across the land, I hope that the seasons offer each of you ample photographic opportunities.

until next Monday,

These are some of my favorites and certainly in contrast to the winter weather you got in Santa Fe. We had almost no snow up here. All of these images are abstract and painterly in the spirit of Monet. The top two especially could be paintings. You really nailed it!
