feast for the eyes and soul

When a person has and shares her talent with others, I feel it should be acknowledged.  In addition to a forty plus year career as a physical therapist, our friend Ingrid, is an extremely creative person.  As another friend, Jim, said "Not every artist is a painter".  So true.  In addition to her many other skills, Ingrid has become a master tart designer and builder.  She has an innate sense of color, depth, and texture that is apparent every time she creates one.  These particular tarts were such a feast for the eyes that I had to try to give photographic credit to her as best I could.  Simply seeing the lemon and berry tartlets brightens the senses and the soul.

Not having photographed blueberries in combination with other lighter and brighter fruits and texture was an interesting lighting project.  Their darkness, along with the reflective power of the glaze that is applied after baking to the top of many fruits used in tarts, provided a nice challenge.

Thanks to Ingrid for taking her tart baking to a whole new level, and to Barbara F. R., Jean & Sam, Tim A., Marilyn G., Catherine, and Steve for writing during a week of wild and wooly spring weather in the southern Rocky Mountains.  I am very lucky and thankful to be surrounded by artists of many stripes, who keep the world sane during unsettled times.

until next Monday,

Wow, all those comments are spot on. I'd just be repeating if I tried to send more. Makes my mouth water for that tart. Nice work.

These are beautifully photographed and totally scrumptious! I love the tablecloth under image one. You wouldn't think that would work but it feels fresh out of the oven and on the kitchen table. The cherry pattern plate is also perfection, and the crumbs and blueberries say homemade. The tart itself is a work of art. The crust looks very short or rich, just the way I like it.

This is a great, mouthwatering set. You have way with still lifes and food photography, generally.

Would've been nice if I had those with my cuppa, this morning. I'm salivating, over here! Wonderful photos and culinary design! Yummers!

Oh my! What a delicious way to start the day. And, for me, non-caloric. My taste buds yearn.
