"No Kings" protest rallies were conducted around the United States of America and the world yesterday. The group Indivisible, which organized the rallies, estimated that 8,000,000+ people turned out for the 3rd such rally. Albuquerque had an estimated 50,000 people in attendance and Santa Fe had 7,000+ protestors of all ages. The numbers have grown as have the number of people who have become frustrated with actions taken by the current administration. Each of the three rallies have had different themes, although the rallies are a venue in which different people of different ideologies, opinions, and backgrounds can air their grievances in what has been thus far safe environments. The rallies are a way for the rank and file to say this is not how my government nor democracy is supposed to work. And as has been the case with the previous two events, creativity was present in abundance. Because of that, this blog is image heavy.

Judging from the signs, the Santa Fe rally majored in tyranny, authoritarianism, and ICE, although Gaza, the war in Iran and regime change, and LGBTQ rights were part of the mix. I like the sign below, because it ties the past to the present.

Being an animal loving city, the dogs were convenient opinion carriers on the Santa Fe Plaza.

Continuing the theme from the previous rally "You know things are bad when old white guys are carrying signs" were some new related signs.

This sign is brilliant. Enough said.

Shown below is a Mike Lucovich cartoon featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, originally reading "She was brandishing a torch."

This is for all Princess Bride fans, with a Mandy Patinkin meme about Antifa.

Below is a great juxtaposition of a sign with far too much text and an illustrative sign that says everything.
